The Thunderchiefs have delivered what could very well be one of the best surf records of 2007. It's no surprise, considering the talent they have on hand, with members that have played with Death Valley, The Sir-Finks, High Noon and Big Sandy. Their sound is about as traditional as you can get, with vintage equipment and buckets of reverb being used throughout to make this sound like a long lost 1st wave surf record. It's pretty much all original instrumental surf from start to finish, with only a few sweet vocal cuts, but they end it with a great vocal version of "One Potato, Two Potato" which sounds almost exactly like the Crossfires' version. It's all packaged in some great artwork designed by band member Mike Guerrero and laid out by Johnny Bartlett, making this a must-have release for any surf or rock n' roll fan.
