It's been quite a while, ten years to be exact, since the last Fathoms album came out. Judging by the sound here, it looks like the band was able to pick up right where they left off. There are fourteen excellent original tunes here, filled with the reverb and twang that only guitarist Frankie Blandino can deliver. While many would call The Fathoms a surf band, that's really only one part of the story. The members bring with them a whole bag of different influences, so you'll find songs that have bits of rockabilly, 50's pop, country, and Euro-instro. The performances and recording quality are absolutely top-notch throughout - none of these songs can be called "filler".
