Girl Trouble - Scorpio 9/The Track 7" (Estrus)
"That's right, that band from Tacoma that won't go away, is
back after lazing around watching Full House reruns to wax
another fab single."
Well it's about time Girl Trouble came out with some new product.
It has been a while since they came out with 'New American
Shame', their last full-length recording. Now they're back with
this 7" which features one vocal and one instro tune.
"The Track" shows that the band are still in top form
and have that uncanny ability to get people's toes-a-tappin'
while maintaining a slightly sinister edge. The flip side has
"Scorpio 9", an instro tune that will really set dance
floors on fire across the country. (Hmmm...#7)
The Gnats - (I Wanna Be In Your) Car Crash 7" (Clamarama)
No press kit was included.
Fast, bratty garage punk mayhem. The Gnats perform gritty, revved
up rock n' roll that shows no signs of slowing down. "Night
Ride" on the flip side is even faster than the A-side. This
is a band set to take the country (hell, maybe the world) by
storm. (The Continental #1)
The Goblins - Giant Robot Rock n' Roll 7" (Won't Go Flat)
"Masked garage rock evangelists from the underbelly of
Chicago."
Wild and crazy lo-fi garage mayhem is what you'll find on this
3-track 7" slab. These guys scare me, but in a good way.
Housed in a cool full color picture sleeve and pressed onto dark
green wax, these songs don't go beyond the two-minute barrier.

The Goners - The Goners 7" EP (Estrus) This 7", along with the latest Mants 7", was part of the latest Estrus Crust Club shipment. Pressed on green vinyl, The Goners slam through three tracks of cool garage/mod music. There is a lot of great Japanese garage rock being released over here and these guys are one of the best bands in the bunch. Pressed on green vinyl with cover art by Art Chantry. (Continental #5)
(*)The Go-Nuts - Go Nuts With...The Go-Nuts!! 7" (Estrus)
I waited a while before picking this one up, because I had heard
mixed opinions about these guys. I gotta say though, The Go-Nuts
are pretty cool and have the tunes to go along with their
gimmick. The sleeve lists two tunes, "Flight Of The
Go-Nuts" and "Transfusion", yet you get bits of
the Go-Nuts theme song here and there. So grab yer favorite
snack, slap this puppy on the turntable, and GO NUTS!!! (Hmmm...
#7)
The Go-Nuts - Robert Earl Hughes 7" (Lookout)
The Go-Nuts proudly present 4 Snak Rock tunes for those that know
the true value of sugar and grease in today's cuisine. Dedicated
to Robert Earl Hughes, a true Snak Rock idol who tipped the
scales at a whopping 1,069 pounds. As with every Go-Nuts release
you get another version of their theme song and three other
swingin' tunes. (Continental #5)
(*) The Go-Nuts - World's Greatest Super Hero Snak Rock &
Gorilla Entertainment Revue (Planet Pimp)
I have loved these guys ever since their first 7" on Estrus
Records. It's good to see them sticking to a formula that works -
writing catchy tunes about snacking and throwing in the Go-Nuts
Theme whenever they get a chance (which is OFTEN). This theme
song, in all of it's variations (heavy metal, frat-rock, and
honky-tonk among them), has gotta be one of the catchiest tunes
ever written. Featuring members of The Untamed Youth and The
Phantom Surfers, this record should appeal to surf n' frat-rock
fans alike. (Continental #4) (Available from Double Crown
Mail-Order)
The Gorgons - Big Hits! (Vendetta)
"The French Gods of Trash!"
Really cool swamp rock, with lots of fuzzed out guitar and
blistering harmonica playing. If you like your tunes and cover
art sweet and clean, this ain't for you. You really can't get
much more primal than The Gorgons do on "Black Night".
So join Nob, Tin, Pot, and Mitch for a journey to the steamier
side of town with their Big Hits EP. (Vendetta Records, 22 Byrd
Close, Waterlooville, Hampshire, England PO7 5UX.) (The

Gorilla - Obliterator CD (Hell Yeah)
"Nobody should be subjected to the oblivion of a life sans
this disc."
If you love organ-driven garage rock, you should get this disc
right away. This little chunk of plastic contains 14 cool songs
that combine raging vocals, driving guitars, and a dirty organ
sound to create forty minutes of mayhem. Their sound is garage in
a Mono Men sort of way, leaning more towards punk. The only thing
I'm unsure about is the cover. Sure, having a goldfish in a
blender is pretty cool, but the photo is a bit too professional
for my liking. (Hell Yeah, P.O. Box 1975, Burbank, CA 91507.)
(Hmmm...#7)
The Gremmies - The Boss Now Sound Of... 7" (Cacophone)
"The drums and bass are really hard-driving and the whole
effect is pretty upbeat and manic."
The Gremmies play what I would call hyper-surf. There is so much
going on at once that it all seems like it is going to lose
control at any minute. All of the traditional surf elements are
here: pounding drums, heavily-reverbed guitars, and throbbing
bass lines. It just sounds crazier than what you might expect.
Pressed onto green vinyl and slipped into a cool full-color
sleeve, The Gremmies are a group of cats that you shouldn't miss.
